What a disappointment. I bought this as a X'mas gift for myself. I read about the rich history of the origin of the father passing the business to the daughter and was looking forward to open my first automatic watch with over 100 years of legacy on Christmas day. After wearing it for 3 consecutive weeks, I realized the the it runs about 6 seconds faster per day. I wind it about 15 times every night. I wanted to return it but after doing some research online, (watchuseek Glycine forum), I realized I am not the only one. What should I do? Also the handwriting on the warranty card looks like it was written by someone whose love for the company is very lacking. I am trying real hard to love this watch... Right now my Bulova Moonwatch is still my best favorite. Disappointed fan.

machspeedsteri think you’re the only person that has complained about accuracy with the combat sub. Personally mine is getting around +2 per week ...in imo that’s not horrible...idk.....just saying

machspeedsterYou should not expect quartz watches' accuracy from automatic watches. An automatic watch running 6 seconds faster per day sounds excellent to me. Combat Sub's movement is Selita's elaborated SW 200. The movement's average accuracy is +-7 seconds per day, so yours (+6s/day) is actually slightly better than the average. I don't understand why you are complaining.

machspeedsterI think you should have read up a bit about automatic watches before purchasing. +6 seconds sounds pretty respectable to me, and certainly not worthy of a 1 star review. Your Bulova is a quartz. This is a quality automatic that is performing quite well from the sounds of it. If you want quartz accuracy you probably should have bought a quartz.

aneffinleafThanks, I am going to keep the watch. Some of my colleagues mentioned that 6 secs is the norm. I guessed for a sub $500 watch, thats OK. I also have received compliments from others also. I am happy.

machspeedster+6 sec a day for a base ETA 2824-2 movement is not bad (what this movement essentially is). You can bring it to a watch maker and they should be able to regulate it further to be more precise. Just remember this is not a quartz watch and accuracy will be worse than a quartz piece.

machspeedsterNext time, take a little time and do your research before throwing one star reviews left and right. -6/6+ seconds pr 24 hour is good for a midrange Selita/ETA movement. I've seen higher priced watches from Longines, Hamilton, Oris etc going worse than that when leaving factories. Rolex' high end automatics have a guaranteed maximum tolerance of -2/+2 pr day so your Glycine is running perfectly fine. It can never run as precise as a quartz or your Bulova. Do your research and enjoy your automatic watch.

machspeedsterYou do know that the combat sub is a self-winding watch right? You only need to manually wind it if you haven’t worn it for a few days and it has run down. Then you might give it a half dozen winds to get it going. Six seconds a day is good for this watch. My combat sub runs about +4 seconds/day on the wrist. Thats near chronometer range. If you want a something that’s within a second a day then you should buy a quartz watch.

machspeedsterAlso quit winding the damn thing every night, you're gonna wear out the rubber O-ring on stem. And oh yeah change your rating, you just bought a damn fine mechanical watch.

machspeedster6 seconds to fast is not bad at all. It's almost in cosc territory. If you have said 20-30 sec I would understand.
