What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. - These are not painted. All of our caps are made of 100% hand-cast resin.
- The lighting in the product pictures didn't help with representing the actual colors and the surface/finish of the caps. We sent the whole line-up to a professional studio and these are the results: https://imgur.com/gallery/kPiYwzj?fbclid=IwAR0m7xa1LctTQ5bx-InyI80BxzTJYr-HVOI_yEprVTQepU6zWUe45um-tx0 . No further edits were made to the photos. Also, please note that these are from the same batch of samples that we shipped to Drop a few months back for evaluation and their product photos.
We understand that this clarification is a bit late now that the Drop has ended. The timing was just a bit unfortunate for us as it was right after our big holiday and things got a bit slow. However, regardless of the sales number, we are happy to be back on Drop, and grateful of the support we have received from them (Spencer and Kevin in particular) in getting this going. Now, of course it's time for us to fulfill the orders and make sure our backers are happy with the results (which we're sure they will be ;)). It's been nice learning, and see you in the next drops.
