Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. My feelings towards Grado and Alessandro are mixed. I do like how M1 and SR80e sounds but upper models are becoming too harsh. Mr. Grado's age might have something to do with their tuning.
I just picked up a M1 for collection after lusting one for many years. Finally, after spending so much time with other headphones, I think I can settle down a bit.
However, Grado controls product pricing tighter than a SF hipster his latte ordering preferences. Even $10-15 off is a rare occasion (and rarely sanctioned by the mother-ship).
And sales tax and shipping are always wild cards and cannot always be compared. Former is luck of vendor/buyer geographical differences and latter often depends of company's economies of scale (i.e. not everyone is Amazon).
