Handcrafted on a quiet street in south Brooklyn, the Prestige Series SR125e Headphones build on their predecessor, the SR125i, with an improved driver design, better acoustic damping, and a new cable. Proprietary SpaceBlack Polycarbonate enclosures minimize vibration for clarity, authenticity, and what Stereophile calls “the greatest sound quality per dollar in the Grado range.” Read More

$168.18 with shipping and tax from Amazon and I live just north of NYC. $141.99 here. I'm ok with this bit of a break. Ya gotta take 'em when you can....
The price/MSRP ratio for this drop seems much higher than most other offerings on Massdrop. I found these at a trusted and verified Grado reseller for the same price with free shipping, plus the order will be processed on the first business day after purchase, which means they'll get here faster. I'm sure Massdrop has good reason(s) for the higher than usual cost/MSRP ratio. Can anyone explain what that might be? Is it possible that Massdrop has a surplus of these headphones that were purchased when the MSRP was substantially higher? My curiosity merely stems from an interest in better understanding how Massdrop operates, which is why I waited until the last day of the drop to bring it up.
RoszpGrado pricing outside the US is always ridiculous compared to other brands. I noticed it when I moved next door to Canada from the US. SR60 pricing was what I would pay for a 225. And for this drop, as noted by some of the comments, it's cheaper elsewhere in the US, but it's a steal for people outside.
Seriously look into the T50RP MK3. Once you swap out the earpads and poor audio cable they can't be beaten for the price. When I mention the audio cable is of poor quality, it truly is. The connector in mine had a poor soldering thus it began to have loose connection issues hours after use; but with the replacement V-moda cable and upgraded ear-pads; it truly became my favorite headphone.
