OverKillAmazing, are you adding the filtering capacitor and breaking out the audio input input pin on the LED driver?
MrBaxterTalking about it now.. will let you know :)

MrBaxterHmm....we have to do some pcb revision changes anyways...sure why not :D
There will be another break-out pin on the pcb in the large debug header.
So, there's already a filter cap on the pcb. You'd need to supply your own software configuration (just some code enhancements) because I won't be able to get to this for quite a while.

HaaTaHaata, Opps sorry didn't refresh in time to see the last comment.
So we get 256 level of brightness for LED, but the programming will be provided by our own.

InnosintI'm planning proper LED support using KLL, but it may not be in place by the time the keyboard ships so I'd plan on having to write some software to get it working. There will be basic hardware support for the LEDs though (I had to test them to make sure the boards worked).

OverKillMay I ask what kind of LED would be the ideal fit for this? 5mm? 3mm? Surface mount? I've never built a keyboard before but really want to try adding LEDs to this eargodox.

cmehere3mm flangeless LEDs. Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321186766412

BlackflowersYeah, they should. Keep in mind that they ship from Hong Kong so they'll take ages to arrive (2+ weeks) and the tracking number they have won't work well. Also, do you know if you want to get clear or diffused LEDs? Here's the difference:

Remember that they'll be sitting behind a keycap so how they illuminate would be different than if you were looking directly at them.

RagingRooseveltPro-tip @Blackflowers buy clear LEDs the first time, sand the surface if you decide to try diffused.

GrapherOh, that's a good idea. I got clears myself but I was wondering if there was a good way to try diffused as well. I figured the clears would reflect more light off the bottom of the caps and result in more ambient light and less directional light. Is that generally the case?

RagingRooseveltThanks. How many 3mm flangeless LEDs do I need?

RagingRooseveltI figure I have some time. So if I order the LEDs this week, they should be here by the time the keyboard kits ship :)

cmehere1 per switch (there might be a few switches that don't have LED holes but I sort of doubt it). Anyhow, there are the following keycaps * 12x 1.5U * 4x 2U * 60x 1U which means 76 switches and 76 LEDs. Probably best to just get a 100 LED pack.

HaaTaDo you know exactly what kind of LEDs are required? Voltage, etc?
