Because I already have an Ergodox, which I bought this summer, I'm trully hesitating to buy this one. But if you can add the possibility to put RGB LEDs (still controlable individually and not only all at the same time) instead of classical LEDs and eventually bluetooth as discussed before in this drop, I think I will not be able to hesitate anymore, I will happy to buy it.
DramI don't know if RGB will happen anytime soon. Backlighted would not be hard to do, but RGB takes up considerably more trace on the board, and especially if they are individually lit. They will probably do it similar to an LED cube (multiplexing) so it will take a different controller for the lighting. It can be done, but I think that it will be a big project and will not happen for at the very least several months.
DramAs it stands, the circuit board for the Infinity only supports standard LEDs (ones with two pins). In order to use RGB LEDs, you'd need 4 pins. The PCB would need to be revised in order to support RGB LEDs.
DramI keep checking for Bluetooth. I'd love a USB w/ Bluetooth hybrid. Have a USB KVM switch and would love to be able to use that since those devices don't support bluetooth. Have a number of bluetooth devices too on the desk. Would love to just have 1 keyboard. Maybe 2 if I need to reprogram the other in some way.
Honestly, though, this keyboard has a ton of features I've been yearning for. It's so tempting that I've actually torn up my credit cards. Too bad one card is in Massdrop - sort of permanently. Don't want to be tempted but awesome product with great features though not enough for me - for now. Amazing how these people, imo, are making a better product than a number of large companies. Really can't wait for the next reiteration.
UncoolBeanAlso cherry MX switches only allow standard 2pin leds. You need to mod switches to allow RGB leds... Smd leds are different story but Corsair has exclusive deal of those clear cased switches... IF we ask kaihl or gateron to do mods to their assembly line then it might BE possible but they aint real cherrys... Like all other RGB board have kaihl switches but Corsair has only cherry switches.
UncoolBeanIndeed yes, there are tons of features on this keyboard. I'm a bit disapointed to have bought the original one only few months ago and didn't play very much with it. About the bluetooth, there is still te possibility to connect the keyboard to a bluetooth hub, but having no wires could be a big plus for putting this keyboard on the armrests of my chair ^^
