I was thinking more like the captain's seat on star trek... each half mounted to the end of the chair's arms, and running a longer wire around the back of the chair so it doesn't prevent easy access to the chair....
I've done this with a platform for my trackball on the right and one on the left for a numpad mapped to macros in cad programs or coding IDEs. My keyboard has been on a swinging arm and platform also attached to the right arm of my chair. I don't have any pics it now. I prototyped some clamps that fit the profile of my chair arms out of MDF and bolts/wing nuts, and then machined them out of aluminum and plexi when I had them tuned. I couldn't really come up with a universal solution, because the different shapes, angles, lengths, and mounting methods for chair arms are so diverse. Anyone interested in this solution will just have to look at their chair and figure out where they can clamp on to the arm o attach elsewhere on the chair, preferably where other things already attach, and make a structure that gets back up to your hand at the proper angle.
Can we get a massdrop on this chair?
