Could a PCB layout be made that was both ANSI and ISO ? With multiple placements where to put the switches depending on. Once you solder the switches in place that makes the layout permanent.
See that both types of switches (cherry / alps) are possible on the same board Could so also ansi iso be?

GrimmynWe'll try to make plates and PCB as convertable as possible. But generally you can only fit so many configurations until you have to give up something else.
Firmware/microcontroller pin wise I'm planning support for ISO/JIS keyboards so it's easy to make. But we'll only do non-ANSI keyboards if there is enough demand.
At the end of the day, we'll try to appease whatever gets the most votes (and possibly stick in some interesting new features as well :D).

HaaTaSo would it be possible to make a "universal" PCB that is both ANSI and ISO on the same board? and same for the plate. Has that ever been done before? or would that be a worlds first?

GrimmynGON NerD 60 PCB and GON Universal 60 Plate can fit this layout or any changes you want in the layout including ISO, but no Matias switches

SygaldryBut the NerD PCB and Plate combo is more expensive. Isn't it? It is not under $100 if you consider switches and stabilizers as Infinity kit already includes.

ideusHe was asking for a PCB that supports both ANSI and ISO though and that's why I suggested the GON PCB (45 for the PCB, 45 for the plate).

SygaldryGONs KeyboardWorks site was really amazing. And very expensive. The pcb sells without diodes or resistors mounted. Don't know why they would do it like that. It wouldn't add so much cost when the IC is already mounted on. So there is a lot more to solder on that just switches. :(
But it shows that both ANSI and ISO can be made on the same PCB. Also that the plate can be both too... that is great!

[edit] So if generic ANSI-ISO PCBs and plates can be made that are both at the same time. Like GONs NerD TKL Ver 2.0 PCB http://www.gonskeyboardworks.com/group-buys/115-nerd-tkl-for-kmac.html

There is no issue for "non-ANSI keyboards if there is enough demand" because there will be no ANSI-only or ISO-only keyboards just sizes. right? And if so. The current poll could be changed to just sizes?

GrimmynFor keyboards there are generally 3 main layouts, US ANSI, ISO and JIS (Japanese). A JIS layout has even more keys than an ISO keyboard. 3-4 more than ISO and 4-5 more than ANSI.
Deskthority Links: http://deskthority.net/wiki/ANSI_vs_ISO and http://deskthority.net/wiki/ANSI_vs_JIS
So I can't really assume ANSI/ISO is the ultimate standard keyboard layout. Adding in JIS to the mix makes things pretty complicated with the bottom row, not sure if doable.
