Any word on OS X compatibility for the ethernet port? Most gigabit ethernet adapters over usb require a driver to be installed on OS X. The only official gigabit adapter for OS X uses Thunderbolt as opposed to usb 3. The manufacturer's site doesn't specify.

jedcredI would assume (dangerous, I know) that it's the same NIC and driver as used in http://www.juicedsystems.com/multifunction-gigabit-lan-adapter for which a driver is provided.

jedcredOSX should be supported right out of the gate. Although if there are issues we have drivers available for reinstall if needed. Older Macbooks that only have USB 2.0 will also work automatically.

JuicedSystemsHey @JuicedSystems ,
What is a use case for the LAN port for a PC that uses its wired connection for internet already?

patrainAdd-on to patrain's question: perhaps this would be something useful with a RasPi?

patrainPatrain,
The LAN port is there if you need it. Most of the new ultra books, Macbook airs etc. do not come with LAN ports so this can help suffice some of the laptop users that use their laptops as their desktop replacement. Think of it as a "mini/portable docking station". For a desktop your right, it is redundant. But the Hub and smart charging feature always is useful. I have been to a few hotels (even fancy hotels) that only provide a wired LAN line for internet, and no wifi. In that case this hub could be your savior.

JuicedSystemsSo no reply as to something like the aforementioned and getting a real professional hub? Perhaps at least a timeframe for something similar?

dozzijdpI will have to look into this. I know thunderbolt is under fairly tight lock and key by apple in terms of licensing. Apple is very expensive to deal with and time consuming to attain their licenses. Most likely the new USB 3.1 will be the future and the standard for both Mac and PC users. Since USB 3.1 will be compatible universally. USB 3.1 will be the future. We will be releasing USB 3.1 units as soon as possible.

JuicedSystemsThanks for the reply, and the info. I was under the impression that thunderbolt was intel. Didn't know you had to go through Apple (which is oh so unfortunate as per usual)
