What exactly makes this one so special? It doesn't seem to do anything different or appear any better build than some 5$ ones i have purchased online. Am i missing something about this product?
LiquidEvilGamingNot mentioned in the text, this car charger shines in built quality and design. The cap is a solid block of aluminum, precision milled (hollowed out) from within. So the result is a beautiful cap that shows no seam lines on its side. The diagonal thread thread on the side is laser engraved. The cap finish is not metallic paint on plastic but real aluminum (like the unibody aluminum MacBook). The result is a car charger that looks like it's part of your original instrument panel, especially in a sporty/leather interior. Yes you can buy a plain vanilla $5 charger that works, or you can buy a little more that enhances your internal decor that lasts a long time.
howard3849Aside from aesthetics and build quality, does the charger have any benefit over a cheap $3 one? I can appreciate a good design philosophy as it can add value to a good device, but I need to have a solid reason to justify that kind of a purchase other than looks alone.
thesawtamost car chargers that are in the single digits worth of $ are low amperage, this one claims to be 2.1A / port (making it a 4.2A charger), you need 2.1A to charge most tablets, the cheaper chargers tend to be 1.2A/port which is not enough for a tablet to begin charging (this is typically hidden by calling a 2 port charger 2.4A, which means each port is actually 1/2 of that, making each port only a 1.2A port)
JasrilWho would buy a charger thats 1.2a only per port anyway! U assume ppl are idiots! U can buy quality 10A 4 port chargers easily for less than this. I just got a4 port charger with 1 x Quallcomm quick charge 2.0 port and. 3 x 2.4A ports for. $20!
