The finish came with scuffs and scrapes at the base. And both stands wobble...
I like these stands. They do there job. They hold my KEF Q150 speakers at the advertised height. And have a nice foam pad for them to rest on.
They come with a set of small and large plates to accommodate different sized speakers.
They look nice from a distance... HOWEVER
THEY CAME WITH SCUFFS AND Scrapes ON BOTH BASES.
Im pretty upset about it to be honest given the MSRP of these are about $200usd I would not expect the finish to be an issue at all.
It really bummed me out seeing the scuffs and missing powder coat. On both plates that cover the base of each stand. I will not be attempting a return because
A. They are heavy
B. They do there job.
C. Not worth my effort.
Now if I could get a partial refund for them that would be acceptable.
It's hard for me to give a five star review when most of the reason I purchased these were because of the weight and finish. The aesthetic was important as they are on display in my living room.
The second issue I have but completely caught me by surprise was both stands wobble, and they both wobble in the same manner. I'm not sure if the batch drop got was B stock with minor defects to be sold at a discounted price. Or if I'm just extremely unlucky. I really wish they didn't have a wobble. I have yet to determine if this is an issue with my floor but for them to both wobble in the same direction on the same isolation foot... I feel like the 2 steel plates are slightly warped. But I'm not disassembling them to put a straight edge against it.
They do the job. And at the price I got them for I would say it's a fair deal. And I mean simply a fair exchange of cash for a product that reflects it's discounted value on Drop. Had I spent $200 on these they would be boxed up and sent back as the defects are unexceptionable at that price.
Frankly I was close to sending them back but I didn't want to roll the dice on a fresh pair or have to worry about paying for shipping, thus, potentially nullifying my discount by purchasing from Drop.
The stands do offer some pivot adjustments on the top plates and they are definitely heavy and isolate well. I will fill mine with sand in the future or steel shot. I use the rubber isolation feet as I do not have carpet for the included carpet spikes.
Otherwise they came well packed ( another rear why I can't see how it would of been damaged during shipping) and the parts are well laid out in a nice box, with clear instructions.
I stand by my 3 stars as this product sits in its current state.
I hope to hear some more reviews from people who purchased the most recent run of these to hear if they had the same issues as I did.
