Review Highlights:
It does what it's supposed to
The switch tester is a fairly sturdy piece of acrylic and has been a great way to teach others about the differences in mechanical switches. It, more than my keyboards, was a gateway for my wife to realize that she wanted a keyboard of her own. She had fun picking the switches. My only gripe is that some of the switches are a bit loose and fall out easily, but that shouldn't be a dealbreaker for anyone.
Would recommend to a friend.
I love it. It has been sitting on my office desk for about two weeks and every time someone visits they always play with it. It has helped me encourage some of my coworkers(developers) to look into getting a mechanical keyboard. Sad part is they all seem to like the quiet ones.

I wanted to get this but after reading so many comments about wrong placement of switches, I decided not to. Would love to know if they changed the assembly process to avoid this from happening.

For the price, it sounds like these are low quality and unreliable with awful QC. Am I missing something here? Have the issues with mismatched switches and loose switches been addressed?

Hey y'all. Not sure how else to say or ask this. Might anyone know how I, a noob, could verify each switch with their respective labeled keycap? I'm worried some are wrong based on what I'm finding online and the fact that when I received my tester quite a few came out of the housing and their keycaps were all over the place. Luckily some were easy to match. Others were hovering over their spot. Sorry if I'm not being clear enough. Thank you in advance for even reading this comment.

bkeyonI’d go online and make sure I found data and pictures of the switches you are not sure about. Would suck to lash out $100 for some switches that are wrong.

Why does the first picture show a Novelkeys Cream in 1-9 and the second picture show a Cherry Gray? And why is the numbering of the keys in picture 2 so messed up? It goes from 6-6 to 7-7 instead of 6-7, then carries on all the way to 9-9, on an 8-by-9 board.

FFIXMasterI ordered mine 2022-07-23 and it has a NK Cream in 1-9. 1-8 is labelled Cherry Linear Gray, but it feels tactile and I suspect it's the Cherry Tactile Gray. The Kailh Speed Silver and Speed Bronze were swapped. Might be others, I haven't had time to double check every one yet. Kind of irritating really....this is supposed to be a reference, and references are supposed to be accurate.

I'd buy 4 of the aluminum chassis if it was available without the switches, please make it happen.

Please sell just the aluminum chassis. For people with extensive switch collections the included switches are likely duplicates. I've replaced every switch in this tester and still have extras.

Got this on Amazon for $100 but 2 day shipping, gave it about a week to test and figure out my switch preferences then returned it ;) really glad I did, there’s so many different switches, you really get to feel out what you like and also compare similar switches from different companies. The only negatives were I did not like the feel of the caps on the testers, it’s nice having the switch info right on top of it but maybe figure out your favorites and pop them into a board or at least some decent caps on them to really test the feel. Ultimately I went with none of these switches! I had also grabbed the Zeal PC tester on Amazon and fell in love with their switches, ended up going with the Sakurios 62g for linear alphas and Zilent v2 62g for tactile mods.

Ordered in April. When are these shipping?

It would be nice if the tester had some electronics built in for detecting key press and release events. Something as simple as a PCB that lights up a single LED when any switch makes contact would make this tester much more useful. Without this kind of feedback, there is no way to tell how short the key travel can be made before typing becomes unreliable, which is an important characteristic of switches for many people, including myself.

Received the tester. A weird thing that I'm looking at is that the Cherry Grays in the top right aren't correct. The switch labeled Tactile Gray is actually linear and the Linear Gray feels tactile so I thought the switch was incorrectly placed. I took the keycaps apart and the switch on the left labeled Tactile Gray is lighter color than the right switch labeled Linear Gray but according to deskthority wiki, actual tactile gray is supposed to be lighter than linear gray. So the stems look like it corresponds with what the caps are labeled as but the actual feel of it is wrong. Sorry if this is confusing. Anyone experience the same problem?

TummyI came to the comments for this exact reason. 1-8 is clearly linear and 1-9 has a tactile bump. The linear one is lighter in color for me as well though. Another weird thing I noticed is my kailh speed silver is significantly lighter than the kailh speed silvers I have on my gaming keyboard. /shrug

TummyI noticed the labeling didn’t correspond with the feel here as well so I swapped them around. Now, that I see that more people are also worried about these two, I’m getting a feel that I have to look more into it to make sure I didn’t switch it up to an incorrect setup. The linear DID feel tactile and the other way around so I think I switched it correctly.
