We’ve all had mesmerizing moments watching volume levels rise from green to yellow to orange to red—either on old-school stereos or laptop visualizers. In the Acrylic FFT Bright Spectrum Light, Keebmonkey is bringing that experience to a dedicated piece of desktop hardware—where it’s never looked better. Emulating older volume meters, this sizable desk light features 14 vertical light pillars each guiding light through 20 acrylic blocks intricately carved by laser cutting to achieve astonishing smoothness and precision once the lights go on. From there, a 14-segment equalizer analysis module uniquely samples the amplitude of 14 frequency points across the entire music spectrum to display the familiar pattern of volume bars dancing from booming bass to sparkling highs. The final presentation takes the form of an enchanting LED light pillar, dancing in an array of colors that, quite literally, casts a familiar meter in new light.
