I don't know why the kershaw leek is advertised to have a 3" inch blade. It's a pretty small knife and the actual length of the blade is 2.75"

Are sure you are not thinking the scallion? i have both, and the leek is 3" from the hinge

I have a Leek, its tip is 3 and 3/8 inches from the hinge, and the cutting area of the blade is 2 and 7/8 inches long.
