Plus I just found out that the hole in my heart can be filled by collecting mechanical keyboards, so anywhere I can save a penny here and a dime there, I will take full advantage of.
UPDATE: Just received my Keycool this afternoon. UPS transferred to USPS who dropped it on my porch. Considering I'm in southeastern PA and the shipment took place from NJ, the swift speed is to be expected.
This is my first mechanical keyboard that I purchased myself with forethought. I've used model Ms as far back as grade school but had no idea why they felt better than the spongy crap they shipped with those multi-colored iMacs. It's amazing, and I love the way it sounds. I have a feeling I'm going to keep the whole house up with the way I type, but you know what? I don't care. It's worth it.
how do you like it so far?
I love it. It's pretty sensitive, actually, which is less than ideal, but all in all, it's pretty great. The LED lighting is nice, and doesn't bother me at all. I'm not head-over-heels with the font on the keys, but I plan on switching those out sometime, so no big on that. It's my first MK so I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I love the feels and it fits my desk layout perfectly. I wanted my first to not be branded, which got checked off perfectly.
I don't have all the keyboard-science that some of the r/MK lifers have, but I think the next board I get, I'll shoot for one with switches needing a bit more force to actuate.
