Is it just me, or does it seem a little bit disrespectful to treat old (even if they are no longer working) watch movements in this way?

MandoBearIt is a form of repurposing, as these movements will end up in the scrap heap. Whether it excites you that’s a different thing.

MandoBearI tend to agree. Feels like... Sacrilege.

BenTWPWhat a bunch of wining silly ass men. the guy that says this isn't cool, probably doesn't own any of these. Your the kind of guy that has a problem killing and eating his own food.

bsterling430And you're the kind of guy who picks fights with random strangers online. Careful, your insecurity is showing.

bsterling430What a thoroughly amusing response! 😁 Hmm... Looks like I hit a nerve there. What a curious and random (and unfounded) set of assumptions you make about someone you have never met. For the record, I have no problem shooting, dressing, cooking and eating animals. I regard it as more humane and respectful to animals than most forms of intensive farming.

deeksI think if the movements were protected by being cast in clear resin I might feel differently. That would keep them from getting scratched up and dusty - even if they can no longer serve their original purpose.

MandoBearYeah, that would be pretty sweet and it would less likely to get caught on something as well because of the gearing on the movement.
