I have had the solid state balanced amp by Little Dot (MKVII) for over eight years now and I am very happy with its overall build quality and performance. I believe the company is based in Hong Kong and their quality control is very solid. I am very interested in this amp, particularly, the MKVIII SE version.

ckanI have been using and modding the 1+ with very amazing results, everything considered. For a sub $200 amp (including amazing NOS tubes and a opamp upgrade), it really sounds amazing. I can’t imagine the sound of monolatural balanced class A... I am very close to pulling the trigger on this as well. 😋

SStasI just received mine, a SE version, today. I only listened for about two hours and my initial thoughts are extremely positive. It has very smooth power delivery and exhibits plenty of tube characters yet not too tubby. The unit did get pretty hot/warm after about 30 minutes but no other issues. I am using a Massdrop/Senn 6xx headphone with a balanced cable.

ckanPure class A with tubes is bound to get very warm. I’d say that is very normal.. my 1+ get a little warm too... Moving it off the stack might help with that as well. Are those VAT monoblocks in the picture? I have a nice reference system too, but I always have trouble working a head-amp in to it. I mostly listen to a head amp in the office, this a Pc->DAC chain. Its like another having a set-up for teaking that i can use the whole day long. Lol, anyhow, thanks for sharing! Appreciate it.
Scott.
