CrosshairsI don't think Drop is a company that has open invitations to anyone that wants to sell here on their platform. Drop has more to do with pricing than the actual seller. In almost all cases, Drop will sell a product at full retail price. Which is generally always higher than what places like Amazon will sell for. It's not a scam. It's just unfortunate. Also, my comment wasn't JUST for this one seller. These things are sold on the internet by many different companies with different seller branding on them. Some of them sell for cheaper than this particular one, some for more.
Sure it's made to mimic a oil lamp. But, for that price point, I want to change the color. As you said for that prise you want more features
And having a lasting design with a way to resolder an another led should be standard, especially in those modern days
Flop_YshHaving to solder anything is not considered user-replaceable. They could use a standard bulb socket, but that would also require more engineering and then having to offer those somewhere, when they're probably only designed for this lamp [having the bulbs standardised would also defeat the purpose somewhat]. It wouldn't surprise me if it was easily pulled apart for a DIY repair, but that would depend on how everything fits together [pressure fit vs plastic clips?]
Edit - Beyond all that, it's a lamp. It shouldn't have many features. What you should be paying for here is the build quality, not feature-set [but having more colour options and USB-C should be no-brainers and I wouldn't consider those "features"]
