I'm talking about aspects of style. And no, you cannot throw the entire mechanical watch industry in the same category of watchmakers that take all aspects of their watches from a mix of other makers/models. Talk about a bullshit statement. What Lum-Tec builds looks like each piece of the watch came from a mixed parts bin. There's nothing original except for the combination of each piece's origin. Most of these boutique companies need to make watches that look familiar so people will buy them. It would be nice to see some original designs that don't look like a frankenwatch. Seiko Sumo; aside from the hands, it's a completely original design. Most Orients, Seiko Monster, Swatch Sistem51, several of the Victorinox autos, Autodromo, Mondaine; all are highly original design mechanical watches. And if you think your B34 isn't built from the "been there, done that" parts bin, well, you must not have been collecting watches for very long.
