Does this light have Nichia 219 B LED or Nichia 219 C LED? I believe 219 B is warmer color which I prefer.

I bought one and I had it two days and it quit working. I wouldn't buy one. It's too bad because I like the size for an edc.

BUYER BEWARE: Bought this on MD awhile back. It is pictured on the drop with an alkaline battery. Left mine in the car during some cold weather and the alkaline battery leaked. I cleaned it as best I could and the flashlight no longer works. Trying to figure out the warranty. Looked at it on Amazon and it says damage caused by use of an Alkaline battery is not covered by their otherwise good warranty. Pisses me off that Massdrop pictures it on the drop with exactly the battery that was in mine that leaked and voided the warranty.

djh1031From what I've heard this is actually fairly common in the flashlight world. Since alkalines are notorious for leaking, and surely even more so given certain environments, it wouldn't make sense to cover it for most companies. It sucks, but this is why I only use NiMH for my (AA/AAA)lights, especially if I know they're not often in use. Plus the voltage curve is generally much better on NiMH batteries, so it should stay bright longer. You also don't have to feel bad about throwing it on a charger early like you may about throwing away an alkaline while it still has some juice. Of course leaving it in the cold is bad, just like with any battery, so it would suck more to lose a NiMH battery to that. Apparently lithium batteries are your best bet if you're going to store it in the cold, you just might want to warm the battery up in your hand/coat pocket(or somewhere with body heat) first as the cold slows the chemical process reducing the power output.

Rev 4 of this copper flashlight comes in Nichia 219 as well as Cree. I'd love to see a drop that offered both options. Unlike the Lumintop Tool, you can stand the Maratac on its end and it has better battery life, too, if the review I read is correct.

My light arrived. It had a weird discoloration on the head. It's not a huge deal, but it's pretty disappointing that it passed qc like that.
