I've had this little torch for about a week now and it's been great up until last night. I decided to spray some ammonia on the brass to speed up the patina process. with the IPX-8 rating mentioned in the description, this should have been no problem for the light. I let it sit for about 5 minutes before drying the light. Upon turning the light on, it flashed once and never came back on. All I can think is some of the liquid must have made its way inside the switchnear the button. Both ends were screwed on tigh, the threads were dry on both sides of the body, o-rings are intact and the light has never been submerged. This is extremely disappointing, as I had very high hopes for the light, and the IPX-8 rating was a big reason for choosing this over other lights. I just hope I will be able to utilize the 30 day warranty to get a replacement.

Eng89I'd guess that the IP classification is for water, not any liquid. So you're probably out of lock regarding warranty.

TeletinThe battery was inside, but since I was just spraying the light and not immersing it, I didnt see it being an issue. I did get the light to start working again after about 24 hours of drying. I will no longer treat it as a waterproof light though. The ammonnia did work pretty well for patina. Initially it brought out some nice blues, but those wore off quickly.

Eng89 I am very glad that your flashlight works again! The patina looks amazing, maybe I'll test it too. However, I will probably remove the electronics before doing it:-)
