Product Description
The Drop CTRL High-Profile is just like the original CTRL, but now it comes with a tall CNC-aluminum case that covers the switches. Machined to be 6-degrees, the case is ergonomically crafted for a natural feel—and it’s quite a bit heavier than before Read More
There aren't any limitations. The only thing that I do differently is swap the mapping for the command key and the alt key.
Source: I have a ctrl and a macbook pro.
The regular CTRL is a low profile or "floating" design, which means that when you view the keyboard from the side (or any angle other than the top) you can clearly see the switches under the keycaps because the switches are right out in the open. "High profile" means that the top of the case is built up around the switches like a wall so that when you stick keycaps on top of the switches, the switches are almost completely hidden. To me, a high profile design feels cleaner and more retro, and floating keycap designs with exposed switches feel more gamer-y.
Multiple reasons; you can change out the cable with a custom one (a popular choice is to use aviator cables.) You can also choose which side you want the cable to go on and plug a second one into the other port for something like charging a phone are some thing.
My LEDs all work, but I have one LED that always displays wrong color. Tried flashing the firmware with different options and such, but it just seems always messed up.
I purchased mine on Oct 10, 2021. Keyboard is constantly chattering all day every day. Super easy to get double or triple t's and various other letters.
I've actually had to run software to fix it, but then it's even worse in games because the chattering happens when you're trying to hold a key and then it stops holding the key. This essentially results in things like you trying to hold W to run away from a zombie, it chattering and stopping your walking while W is still held, and then you dying because you are trying to run away but nothing is happening.
