Really frustrated. Looks like these have wide spread problems with the bands breaking. 6 weeks out of warranty mine snapped putting them down on my desk. No parts available, no help from Mass drop. Not impressed. Google shows this not being uncommon.

MeatisgoodI have same problem...I m very upset although mine is nearly 2 years old. But i would expect that part shall be available from massdrop at this price point!!! P.S. I take care of my stuff a lot! ... like I have 8 years old laptop which works and looks fine ... btw the scratches on the cup are from the shipping not from me (long story but not massdrop to blame)

MeatisgoodThanks for the heads up. QC is one area I won’t compromise on so these get a pass...

TakangOwnoes. Mine is also two years old. This better not become a widespread problem. Did Massdrop help you out anyways? Magnesium Alloy supposedly has to be more rigid than that. Perhaps there is a batch that has bad quality Magnesium Alloy around the cup holders?

MeatisgoodIt is totally not acceptable, it's a 500$ headphones (excluding tax). If you handled it with care like others say, and it just snapped, then Massdrop is obliged to sent you replacement parts.

IGproThey did not because I was 6 weeks out of warranty

MeatisgoodWell that is a terrible shame. At the same time this issue is not widespread enough to be considered petition worthy. Maybe at max 3% will get this issue and those that will report the heaviest, which is understandable of course. It is hard for me to imagine good quality magnesium alloy snaps like it did, there must be some batch inconsistencies within the magnesium alloy production. Magnesium alloy is known to be a very strong metal while at the same time being light.

IGproFix it with JB Weld. It won't be as pretty as new but it will break somewhere else before the repair fails.

IGprono, mine is  out of warranty ...
MeatisgoodI had the same issue and same results from Massdrop. It was pretty disappointing that nobody can support these after they break. I would love to pay them to fix it since I'm out of warranty as well.

MeatisgoodThis is a real problem with this model that I have mentioned along with many others. The Denons, in terms of build quality, are built much nicer. I caved and got the ebony's because the sound is so good. You can try some kind of Krazy Glue, that worked on some other headphones of mine, very strong glue, get the kind designed for plastic. Or if you feel like a DIY project, since these are two wire, you can get a headband off AliExpress and make a new one. Unfortunate problem and unfortunate they didn't change it, it's a sacrifice for amazing sound. I am very careful with mine and keep them in a Pelican style case. Sometimes I get the ones made by Monoprice bc they're much cheaper and do mostly the same job. Probably not the solution you want, but I hope this can help. #audiophilesacrifice Btw, my daily planar is an Audeze. But that wood sound cannot be replaced.
