Do you recommend them for old heavy metal and denpa music(https://youtu.be/0NXyc62WMd4)? I would also be gaming with them

YamiFrankcI would recommend them, but I will say that they are not necessarily the best at those things. I have a fast amp and DAC, and it sounds pretty good. I've used a much slower amp, and things like this usually sound sort of mushy through the slower drivers of the HD6XX. Not bad, still better than a lot of things, but they're not living up to their potential in that situation. They also don't have the widest soundstage, so if you're after that for gaming, they're not going to be the best fit. I use mine for games, but I don't aim for artificially huge soundstages. Never been bothered by the lack of those extreme distance noises. So I'd say yes, they're great for most things, super versatile, but there are things that are better for specific things, and if that's all you want out of them, then maybe go a different route... but you probably want more than one specialized pair if you're doing so. If you only have one pair, these are great at so many things it's hard to really tell you not to check them out.

ProfessorPatThanks! What do you mean by a fast amp? I have a audio technica ath-ad900x and also a hifiman he-400I. I like them but I'm looking for something else.

YamiFrankcI mean if the amp doesn’t adjust to the signal quickly enough, it will sound slow and sort of smear the sound rather than producing everything as expected. A lot of modern amps are fine in that regard, tubes tend to be slower (lower end and older stuff anyway), but you also need enough power and running too little is going to do about the same thing as a “slow” amplifier. These drivers are what I’d call “slow” themselves so to get the most out of them, unless you like the slow syrupy fatness, you’d want a quicker, powerful amplifier. My tube hybrid sounds a lot slower than my solid state stuff. All of them should have enough power, but the presentation is different, and the “slower” combo isn’t as good sounding for the faster, heavier music.
