There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). The story of that auction is well-known so I'll only...

I wanted to give a quick update to everyone. We’re extending this drop to the 28th of June to give more people a chance to join this drop. This extension won’t have an impact on the shipping time.
When we negotiate with the factories, we have to lock in a production slot that requires us to send the order to the factory by a certain time, upon which the production process is set into motion. This timeline is also used by us to calculate the shipping date for the community, so that we can provide an accurate estimate.
We had a significant number of tickets sent to our Support team by community members asking to be able to join this drop at a later date. Since we are below the max quantity that the factory can produce within the production timeframe, they mentioned that would be able to accommodate addition orders provided that the production slot is locked down and that the orders are below the max quantity. Hence, we thought that the extension would be beneficial for everyone.
I hope this gives you more insight into the process. All this being said, your point has been taken very seriously, and I am presenting this feedback to the team here.
But thanks for clearing up that Massdrop will put nagging non-customers over those that simply pay expecting good service.
While I had money set aside for this purchase, I would rather buy into it at a later point as it's an option rather than having it be collected a month earlier. I think many others would agree and the issue here is with transparency in communication.
I do see how it could be perceived otherwise and its good feedback for us. I will make sure that this is taken into account.
All this being said, I've followed up with the team internally, and they have confirmed that the earlier joiners will have their order shipped first as the production has already begun. @SpookyC @Arnthor
Thank you Massdrop for these collaborations! Although I joined the 2nd drop and had to return mine due to QC issues (reordered some on the drop that just ended), I am excited for these shoes to once again have these shoes.
For those that are complaining about them extending the drop: if it helps ease your indignant mind, just think about it as Massdrop conducting a 4th (?) drop that happens to start when the previous one ended. It's not like they haven't offered the product again in the past.
