Build quality seems pretty awful, was creaking from day 1 and now one side is buzzing just a month after warranty expired. Loved it while it worked : )
Once you replace the pads, these are close to perfect. If I had to buy only one pair of headphones, this would be it. Maybe also the Sundaras, if you wanted an open-back.

Good isolation, decent sound
These are built very well, and come with a lot of accessories such as extra pads. The sound is not quite as detailed or balanced as other top offerings in this bracket such as Shure SRH1540, but the bass slam is definitely better. If you like bass and want an isolating closed back, look no further. If you want bass and slightly less isolation, go for the E-MU teaks. The comfort is superb and the ear cups are plush and large. Quality set that will last a lifetime.

No repairs with questionable quality
Just after getting 2 months out of warranty, the driver of the DT177X started breaking down. After being told by Beyerdynamic that only Drop carries the parts necessary to repair them. Drop on the other hand then told me they neither do repairs nor carry ANY spare parts aswell, leaving me with a useless piece of expensive tech that I can not fix after only 2 years, while only using the headphones very casually.

Bang for your buck
Amazing closedbacks for the price, definitely need some eq adjustments but the sound signature is overall very good some definitely may not like the bass heavy profile but personally I love it

No other cans even come close at this price point!
Nice, extended bass and treble as well. Air in spades. They do need some time to get burned in. No smiley curve feel like older Beyer Dynamic models. They feel very natural and are an excellent pair of headphones to mix music with. Compared to Audeze MM-500 they are more detailed and will reveal your mix issues quickly. Nice separation and sound stage. They pair well with my new Adam Audio A8H monitors and sound fairly similar to them although they reveal a bit more of details. I recently bought a pair of Hifiman Arya Organic cans that are not burned in yet, but so far I prefer the sound of the DT 177X GO.
