The DT 177X GO is everything I love about the Beyerdynamic sound in a flexible package that makes it my new go-to closed back set for mobile, gaming, and studio use. Check out my review below: https://youtu.be/PzWyjN0pDR8 Disclaimer: Massdrop provided the 177X GO as an advanced sample for the purposes of this review. They did not influence the review in any way and they have not seen the final video prior to it going live. Rating 5/5

nick_tIF you have to game in a closed back, I find them to be very good. Detail and imaging are very good, but they do struggle a bit with verticality. Soundstage feels reduced from the DT770 but not enough to negatively impact my game.

BadSeedTechThough some reviewers even on massdrop stated that the soundstage is average or merely the same on the DT 1770X Go with the DT 770 pro. Do you find any realism on the DT 1770X Go for gaming ? What is your uptake and difference in sound performance particularly on the sub bass region with comparison with the DT 1770X Go and DT 770 250 pro ? Also, have you heard the original DT 1770 pro 250 ohms ?

nick_tLike I said, the 177X GO sound stage feels smaller than the DT 770 - but not enough to impact gameplay. Soundstage 990>770>177X Unfortunately, I don't think I know how to quantify "realism" in gaming over another headphone. Sub bass is more than capable on the 177X provided you give it a little eq boost. Going from memory on the DT 770 250 (I don't own it and chose the 80ohm over it) - stock tuned - it is less prominent than the 770 but more controlled. Again , this can be overcome with like a 3db eq bump. Have heard the 1770 pro, yes, but its been ages and I don't feel qualified to speak on it.

BadSeedTechAs far as I know, the 1770 pro are very aggressive and forward with highs and bass. Anyway, how do you compare your dt 770 pro 80 ohms and the dt 177X Go 32 ohms ? I have dt 770 250 ohms for protable use

BadSeedTechThank you for your review. By chance have you ever sampled the Beyerdynamic T70p? They are an older model that I currently have, so am hoping to get any ideas regarding a comparison of the two.

igobybig3Yes, but AKG 7XX has better SS and being open is superior. If you are really serious about games and positional audio, skip this headphone. You dont have best of everything

igobybig3I would. I've been using them while playing The Division 2 and AC Odyssey and they perform admirably. While having a smaller soundstage, they image very well and extend much better over the 7XX. They're overall more smooth and consistent so I find picking out nuances like footsteps and rustling as other sounds never get in the way or distract. Their bass is also quite punchy so you won't be missing out on the low frequency effects like you the 7XX.

BadSeedTechThought I posted this a while ago but just want to say your reviews are extremely impressive, man. Had me going back through and listening to some of my phones differently. I'm still developing my ear and they've been very helpful.

BadSeedTechWhat a great review! I have one disagreement. A Massdrop X DT1990? Nah, Massdrop x Beyerdynamic making a DT 188X 600 ohm model is what I want/need. Now we are talking a studio monitor/mixing headphone of the gods!

BadSeedTechI know you've said this, but I wanted to ask for crystal clarity since I don't have my dt770s anymore (too veiled, hard to use for voice chat): With an EQ bump, can the sub bass on these compete with the DT770 80ohm?

NejiBeyerdynamic representative told me they are not continuing the DT 880 due to having the same representation of sound upgrade of the DT 1990. By the speaking of studio monitor/mixing headphone god, there is a newer ones on town known as LCD-MX4. Probably an end game reference monitor cans
BadSeedTechGreat review. Beard is epic.

nick_t You probably already know this but If you go with the DT 770 Pro for gaming, go with the 80 ohm. The bass is punchier/better compared to the 32ohm and 250ohm (can find this info on a ton of forums since a lot of people complain about the DT 770 Pro 32 or 250 ohm not being punchy/great). Best purchase I have ever made for gaming. I ended up going with these after doing hours on end of research comparing headphones for gaming and I saw more people on forums referring the DT 770 Pro 80 ohm for gaming at the end of the day. I too am curious about how these 32ohm headphones sound for gaming but for the price difference, the 770 Pro 80 ohm are probably hands down better overall. I guess you would need to take in account how music sounds on it if these will be your only pair. I never thought I would fall down this rabbit hole of needing different cans, amps and dacs for different purposes. Whole life changed after getting my first entry level audiophile set-up.
