I just purchased a Leek in the Red and Black color pattern (with its standard 3" blade) for $39.95 at a competitor. It was the color pattern that I liked with this knife. So, I saved $100. Well, not really. I had to spend another $55 to get free shipping, but that was another couple of knives and a free deck of cards. I don't know if the ancient tradition of shaking money out of people is exclusive to Japan. I think most of the rest of the world has caught on. As I've said before, there are some good deals here. The ones I've seen, I own virtually all of them. I don't know if Droop is ever going to get the olive wood mortar and pestle back. I don't know if it's a good deal, but I am going to scoop one up for one of my son-in-laws who is a marvelous cook, it it ever comes back around. (Don't forget the email, Jonas!) And what does this rambling rant have to do with this knife? I thot you would never ask. Very, very little.
14themoneySome F/U. The Leek was locked closed. I had to use a screwdriver on the lock. Then the blade wouldn't flip open. I had to loosen the pivot. When I did flip it open, the grind was bad. It was like a recurve with the concave portion just after the tip. The competitor sent me a mailing label (Picking up all the charges) and credited me all the money back on my CC. Hey, Jonas! Are you taking notice? That is customer service. GOOD customer service.
