There seem to be a lot of complaints with the USB cable supplied in the reviews... Could the DAC come with either a better USB cable to eliminate the need to purchase a better one separately or not come with one at all to lower the price even further and allow for purchasing your own USB cable afterwards. Just speculating, thanks.

QwervyUnless its shipping with something hopelessly out of spec bordering on broken, a new cable won't do anything noticeable, but a shorter cable length would offer the least noise. I don't think omitting a 20 cent USB cable is going to lower the cost much though

RayndalfI'm also talking about physical resistance through the cable being an issue, not supplying enough power (amps). As said in the reviews, there are issues with quality of the cable supplied and if the cable supplied has the quality of a 20 cent one as you said. Then the issue should be fairly obvious. 5V isn't a very high potential difference meaning the internal resistance of the cable will have a greater effect on the ability of a computers already low amperage to flow through resulting in lack of power-supply to the DAC. (Which could also effect its ability to properly ground to its power source.) This could be one of the issues along with proper cable shielding which I am guessing is lacking in the cheap cable, though this is sending a digital signal so it shouldn't make much of a difference. Last and least it may be bottle-necking the signal which is a pretty stupid explanation because the DAC only needs class 1 USB XD. As I said before I'm purely speculating and this isn't a serious issue because a cable can be purchased afterwards.

QwervyIf the cable they're shipping is bad enough that most people would change it then that is reasonably disappointing. Some people will always want blessed silver wire or something similarly silly, but if the cable is poorly finished or otherwise just sad its a shame because they could buy nicer cables in bulk for very little. I bought a Khardas tone board a few months ago and while it has no enclosure, the cable it shipped with was unexpectedly nice (especially when it wasn't mentioned in the description). Buying a nicer cable is of course cheaper and easier for most people than printing an enclosure for the damn thing, but no one should tolerate trash cables when even $15 USB headsets include durable, well insulated cables.

QwervyI actually swapped the cable for the one that came with my old Galaxy S5. The cable was cheaply made, it didn't fit snugly into the back of the DAC and the "A" connector on the computer had a lot of play as well.
