Looking for some advice from you knowledgeable kind ladies and gents please.
I am seriously after a good pair of planar magnet HE's so are these the ones to go for or sit it out until the HE400 arrives?!
Lastly....
Based in the UK and need to redo my desktop setup so new headphone amp, DAC etc etc. An example would be Schiit Magni2/Modi2 combo. Can anyone recommend a company?
Thank you!

I can't comment on these headphones I'm afraid. Pretty sure they're not planar headphones though...
Re: Desktop DAC/Amp combo. I have the Schiit Magni 2 Uber/Modi 2 Uber combo and I have to say I'm delighted with it.
I regard myself as a junior audiophile. I like to keep the budget within reasonable limits, so the combined £300 cost was about all I was prepared to pay, but I think it's worth it. I'm powering a pair of AKG K712 Pro headphones and I'm delighted with every aspect. They look really goo too.
EDIT: I got the Schiit combo from the EU distributor so no customs charges. PM if you want details.

Grado and Schiit are a sweet combo, depending on your musical preference, add Roon to the mix and the fun begins.

These are not PM headsets, however the sound is awesome and you cannot beat the price as a entry open back reference headset. I have had them about a month and I like them alot. My next headset is between the HD650 and hifiman 400i. Some may call false but I enjoyed the 350 as much as I did senn HD 600. So I'm leaning towards to the 400I. If you have the cash pull the trigger on the 400I. Otherwise grab these up and become converted as I did.

Yeah, sorry . Assumed there was a way to PM, but doesn't look like it. Anyway, the website is http://schiit.eu.com Service is pretty good in my experience, and delivery was very quick.
I've also got a Fulla 2 which I use at work, and that's a hell of a lot of dac/amp for the money - worth thinking about if budget is a consideration.

This price can be beat. The Lasmex L-85 is $79.99 on Amazon, and Massdrop regularly has it for a little less. Also, the Philips SHP-9500 is around $70 from multiple vendors. The Lasmex needs to be EQ'd, but both headphones sound better and are considerably more comfortable than the HE-350's.
Unlike the super-fatiguing, treble-heavy sound of the HE-350, the HE- 400i has lush mids and an overall balanced presentation. In addition, the 400i has plush earpads - whereas the 350's pads are stiff and uncomfortable because their ear openings are too small for human ears.
My advice is to pass on the HE-350's, as there are better headphones available in this price range.

lol ok I never had the Philips SHP-9500 and with regards to Lasmex L-85, they are nice headsets but the spec doesn't hold up to 350 spec so I wonder about range(hope that doesnt send you into audiophile rage lol) and personally I believe the sound stage is bigger on the 350. But audio quality is relative. And yes if you have the 400I dollars BUY it. Lastly I didn't believe in burn in until this headset, because after 75 hours of burn in the highs weren't that harsh but I did get A AC as well.

These are not planar magnetic, they are regular dynamic headphone drivers.

Thank you for the correction. The HE400i see to be. Many other reputable makers that use Planar other than HiFiMAN?
Cheers :)

Appreciate the help buddy. Already been in touch with them. WIll check out the Fulla. Is it USB powered for being used OTG with say a laptop or a desktop PC?
Cheers :)

It's pretty cool actually - it'll take power direct from the data USB connection for OTG use, but for desktop use you can also plug in another USB for power only, which gives it more power and keeps the data connection purely for data.
