Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

- The sound stage is actually way bigger than anything I have heard before, it's really nice and the sounds feel further away and just really enjoyable in that aspect. - The highs... Woah, I thought my XBA-4 sony earpods were sibilant, these are just many times worse... Like it actually ruins the listening experience for particular songs. It's not really with singing, and I find just some part of the song is really sharp and it actually hurts. On other songs, it sounds really nice, and there is actually a decent amount of bass... - the bass is good, it's there and it's not as recessed IMO although YMMV. It's just that the highs can sometimes make it unbearable to listen to. - There is like no sound isolation, that's kind of expected. Also, if you play these, the grills leak sound so overall not a very nice option for public transport. - The clamping force is strong, and I have a small head so I can't even fathom what it must be like for most other people haha/
Overall, the biggest problem is these highs. I think the bass mod is pretty good but I would rather a mod that tames the highs... The low end is good as it is right now. I'll update when I listen to it, and this is just the experience of a rather new-to-headphones audiophile, usually listen to iems so the soundstage sounds so much bigger.
