I'm super noob but I'm kind of vaguely considering dropping the $$ for this, can someone break down how programming the RGB backlighting would work? I looked at their website and I'm just like 🤔
BlueCrownedThe RGB Configurator isn't live yet, it will be up and running well before the keyboard ships. Here is a picture of how it will roughly look.

NickkNifty!
BlueCrownedThere is a client-side configurator (and the online one mentioned, though it uses a toolchain) we are developing that will place your custom designs onto the keyboard, but all animations, programming, or customization are stored on the keyboard itself. With the K-Type, there is no need for buggy software to run in the background constantly tracking / interpreting your every keypress.

AndrewLekashmanCan you PLEASE , share the macOS build - after it is released (even if "broken" alpha) The online configurator may be fine, but then for custom lightning chains | an own software piece would be much more preferred :)
Also i hope, you can also keep up the botton lighning part - or daisy chain both lighning segments with 100+fps It would help me, for the thing i want to do :) Need fast reactable flashy led "spykes" on a hit - which go directly again off
Every RGB kb's i'v tried, was waay to slow with it's ligning part, the key presses where way faster and the fade out time (even on fastest speed) was like 40% to slow w_w
Hope rly, KLL is not hard to learn, and finally mac friendly :prays:

AndrewLekashmanIs LED support being added via an update to the KLL? If so, do you know if LED configuration support will be added to other Input Club keyboards like the Ergodox Infinity?

skrooksShort Answer: YES.
Long Answer:
HaaTa is finishing up the KLL side for LED animations, and this will apply to all keyboards (though naturally for non-RGB it will only be brightness). Once that lands in the mainline everyone who manually compiles will be able to use those features.
If you're a user of the Configurator I'm currently in the process of a re-write that will be adding those features as well. Naturally, the first thing than most people will be able to use are the non-RGB features since no one will have a K-Type :D
