Product Description
Driven to make ultralight backpacking more accessible for everyone, we teamed up with Klymit to create a packable pillow with a great weight-to-performance ratio at an incredible value. The result is the Pillow X Ultra Light, made from 20d nylon in a green color that blends in nicely with wilderness surroundings Read More
This pillow is a bit noisy when moving around and when placed directly onto tent floor and in contact with your head. I find that if I wrap it in a shirt, it is much more comfortable to use, but makes the sliding around issue worse.
It Depends. I prefer having a dedicated pillow, and this one is comfortable, lightweight, and does exactly what I want it to do.
If you want to save 55 grams (1.9 ounces), and don't mind either sleeping without a pillow or using something else as a makeshift pillow, then you're better off without one.
This reply will be different for everyone. The best way to tell if it's worth it for you is to sleep a full night on your pad without a pillow, and then a full night with one, and see how you feel in the morning.
As others have said, application also matters. If you are car camping, definitely use a pillow because the weight simply doesn't matter and it's way more comfortable. If you are backpacking, think about the level of comfort you want/need. Particularly if a pillow will allow you to be more refreshed for your next day and boost your morale, it's a very small weight penalty to pay.
As for my own experience, I used to go often without a pillow, and would either use rolled up clothing or nothing at all. But the refinement of my clothing system for backpacking meant that I no longer had a bunch of excess clothing to roll up. The weight and packed size of an inflatable pillow, especially this one, was so negligible and has made my experience so much more comfortable I personally consider it worth it.
I didn't buy mine for camping, but to use when travelling abroad and sleeping with very flat pillows. I blow up my Klymit pillow and put underneath the flat pillow to bulk it up. Works great for this. Have also used a few times on flights when I have the window seat - blow it up and use it to lean against the side of the plane to sleep. Well worth the money for my application...... Sorry, this didn't really answer your question.
I’m a backpacker, do some long treks, weight matters, but so does comfort, and 2 oz is a bargain weight wise. I used to use my clothing bag but after a couple of months on Trail it was a bit ripe, and in colder weather I am wearing most of the contents. You have to pick your comforts though, my goal is less than a 30 pound load with food and water for 4-5 days. For me, absolutely worth it.
A lot of people just use a bag as a pillow. For the longest, I use to carry an empty pillow casing and use my towel or clothes or an extra sweater as a pillow. Using this pillow will depend on how you sleep. Like someone mentioned, that if you sleep on your side, this pillow is not for you. If you sleep straight (facing the night sky) or on your face, this might work well for you. Its quite comfortable.

100% yes. Unless your one of those people who can sleep during Armageddon.lol
I would say it's definitely worth it. However, I would say for me I really cannot get comfortable sleeping on my side with this pillow. Though, when sleeping on my back this pillow perfectly cradles my head and is surprisingly comfortable, but pretty noisy on top of a sleeping bag! There's a cloth cover that they make for it which would probably help with that.
I think it depends on how much you need it. I could do without one but that is just me , if you want to make a custom inflatable back system for your frameless backpack this can be a good choice.
If you are car camping where space isn't an issue, just use a normal pillow. If space and wieight are considerations, this is a must have. Packs down to the size of a deck of cards and weighs about as much. It won't replace the pillow on your bed, but great for saving weight backpacking.
definitely! sleeping on a camp mattress or cot without one (especially if you use a pillow at home) can generate unexpected and unwelcome muscle and joint stress. you don't want to wake up camping with a headache, stiff neck or shoulder pain. i carry one on all my travels for both ensuring i have the right firmness and for ensuring that i have a pillow full stop.
My pillow has develop a leak in the seam around the nozzle. It is not a hole from a punchure Dose the life time warranty cover this? How do I get a new one under warranty?
