Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Playing these through my google pixel and fiio e18. These are the highest end IEM's I've owned with the next in line being Brainwavz S5 so I don't have a lot of experience or breadth to pull from. Where the S5 was a decent step up from $20-50 IEM's, most notably in the bass and soundstage, the X is a very large step up from the S5 across the board. Comparing side by side, going back and forth on songs from Jamie XX, Major Lazer, Pink Floyd, Royksopp the X sounds so much more complete across the entire range. This is something I didn't really know that I was missing with the S5, but also an example of something that I was hoping to find with the upgrade. The S5 seems tuned to have good bass, which is does, but vocals and snare on a song like Starboy sound downright hissy, metallic, and shallow after comparing to the X. The X sounds very balanced and full for all notes in the song.
I'm still trying out the tips included to find ones that fit my ears well. My left canal is larger for some weird reason and it's hard to find one that fits well and creates a seal. I may buy some others to find the right fit.
Overall, I'm really pleased with the sound of these. Admittedly, I don't have a lot of experience as to what these 'should' sound like or if they are better or worse for the price range. I can only say that they sound realllly good to me and I'm pretty happy about that.
Edit: havent tested them with these IEMs though, they may or may not fit. YMMV.
