Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

So I'm very grateful that Massdrop stepped up to the plate and hit a home run for me! Let's hope that the broken right IEM was just a bad seed and the new pair lasts me a very long time! I will DEFINITELY be buying more from Massdrop in the future after how they handled my situation!
So kudos again to Ava and Massdrop for giving me a brand new pair of the EDC IEM's and going above and beyond for me, and I'm really glad that I didn't just get a refund because these sound great for my listening needs (Sony Walkman NW-A35)!
The highs and mids are solid, and the low-end has great pronunciation and decays quickly, which is great for my Schoeps mics, because they can get those lower frequencies better than most mic's out there! I'm extremely happy with them this far, and I hope that they last me a LONG time to come! And having the Comply tips creates a PROPER seal in both of my ear canals, which no silicone tips could EVER do for me! Those are definitely the icing on the cake if you ask me LoL 😁
I've read numerous reviews here on Massdrop and I read that ALL IEM's should be burned in for around 100+/- hours! So far I have about 20 hours broken in on them, and they'll be running almost 24/7 until I get to the 100 hour mark! So thanks again for all of the great reviews and discussion about the EDC IEM's, because I looked everywhere for a few months before I decided on these!
That said, I love my EDC IEM's sooo much, that I am probably going to grab the HEM 1 IEM's just to have the supposedly better clarity that the BA drivers have. As of right now I couldn't be ANY happier, and I'm hoping that having the Nuforce EDC and HEM 1 IEM's will cover ALL of my IEM needs. Better low-end on the EDC IEM's and better clarity with the HEM 1 IEM's! Does that sound like a smart idea? Or should I just enjoy the EDC IEM's and save up for a pair of Westone IEM's with BA drivers?
Thanks in advance for any help and experience that you can share👍
While nowhere near class A, they are getting much better and more listenable and for $60... nearly worth the cost. I'll put on about 300 or so hours and then make a more definitive statement. Right now, they are a work in progress. Cheers
