Your New Everyday IEMs

Made in collaboration with NuForce, a company that’s brought us high-performance audio gear from nearby Milpitas, California for more than a decade, the EDC in-ear monitors are ready to go everywhere with you. Wear them at home, in the office, at the gym, or while traveling or commuting. The lightweight plastic housing—done in a smoky transparent color—is built to stand up to regular use, while the included ear tips block out noise and the zippered case offers an easy carrying solution. What’s more, you’ll get two removable cables: a braided cable for top-notch performance and a second cable with an inline remote and microphone. At $59.99 with all accessories, these IEMs work as an upgrade to the beginner’s portable music setup or an inexpensive set to round out the serious audiophile’s collection.

Single Dynamic Driver, 2 Removable Cables

The EDC IEMs feature a single 6-millimeter dynamic driver on each side, with the left and right channels closely matched for a cleaner, more accurate sound. The result is a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience: spacious, detailed, musical, and coherent, with a bit of extra bass that doesn’t take away from the overall balance. For a comfortable fit, both cables use a shrink-wrapped over-ear guide with a thin profile (especially convenient for users who wear glasses) and a two-pin connector that won’t rotate as you move. Along with allowing you to switch between these two cables, the removable cable capability has other benefits. You’ll have the flexibility to swap in different cables to support different devices, and if your cable ever breaks, you can simply get a new one instead of replacing the entire IEM.

Community Reviews

"The Massdrop x NuForce EDC ranks as the most carefully designed and ruggedly built budget in-ear reviewer Steven Stone has seen. Its light weight, compact casing, interchangeable cables, and slightly dark but full range sonics combine to make it his best-buy in-ear monitor - and TAS´ Earphone of the Year." - Steven Stone, The Absolute Sound (Ultimate Guide to Headphones and Personal Audio)

"...but what Massdrop and Nuforce has done here for this sound profile I am gonna recommend a solid purchase. These have IT. The one earphones you want to carry around every day." - Dsnuts, Head-Fi Contributor

"Significantly improved clarity and soundstage, comfort is better, and of course you get multiple detachable cables and a carrying case. So for the price, I'm going to say these are pretty solid IEMs." - DMS3 TV, YouTuber

"I can’t believe how far we’ve come. ... Today’s 99$ is literally head and shoulders and knees and toes above what was the tip top in 2002, even if, through Massdrop, today’s 99$ is actually 59$." - Nathan, Headfonia

"It excels in comfort and fit, as well as aesthetics. It also has one of the most pleasing and visceral bass presentations I've heard in its price bracket, as well as a full midrange though not too boosted in the presence region." - jjwfr, Massdrop community member

Is there a comman name for the connectors to the earbuds? most "2 pin" connectors look different from the ones that came with the earbuds.

I was actually looking for this answer myself. As far as I can tell, it needs a .77 mm 2 pin headphone connector, but a .78 mm apparently will work as well, although a lot of cables don't appear to...Read More

Question
I use the EDC at the gym. I have run on the treadmill, used cross-training machines, and used the Concept 2 rower. I perspire a lot, and the EDC and EDC3 have never let me down. Excellent choice, and they block out annoying gym noise well, too.

I use these for workouts also, they’re pretty good. What I don’t like is that none of the other sizes of supplied silicone tips fit on the EDC, really dumb.Read More
