Miguel_SanchezDid I ever claim those products were also of value?
I'm that type of broke guy who wears cheap $5 clothes and shoes from the local market, spending money only on things that I myself find to be of value, not joining on every new cool hip trend.
I personally find this new "Fidget Spinner" trend to be incredibly dumb, as it's a high payment rate for a toy that... spins.
Of course, one may dislike that others are not into the same hobby that they are, and I understand that. Doesn't mean I can't share my opinion on such hobby.
SuuuYou also understand that goes both ways, correct? Just as people may dislike that you're not into the same hobby they are, you don't need to express your disdain and dislike for what others potentially enjoy. Asking why someone would buy this or stating that you don't get why one would is one thing, another is me saying Overwatch is Blizzard's failed attempt at copying Quake and catering to weebs with ridiculous looking characters and graphics with very little aim and dexterity in general necessary because all anyone ever does in "competitive" is stack/manage ability cooldowns.
Now I wouldn't do that, I just stopped playing it after closed beta. I don't feel the need to question why you have a D.Va avatar just because I think the game is bad.
Lastly, I'd wager about half the people who are in on this drop have never even used a spinner (myself included). I'd also wager many of those people will barely even use theirs when they arrive. Tons of people who are in on this are doing it because they love Rama and his work and want to support him; he's one of the better people I've met online in however many years and he deserves all the success that's bound to come his way. If you're broke and think 50 bucks is too high of a price to pay for that then I'm sure he more than anyone else would understand that, just don't be condescending about it.
BlueCrownedHaha OW is a lot of things - not to derail the discussion further but yea they did incorporate a lot of TF2 elements to the point where that would've probably have been a better example; Quake was what I played a lot growing up though and they did copy/"reinvent" every Quake weapon hence my using that. Pharah is the rocket launcher, lucio is the plasma gun, zarya is the lightning gun, widowmaker is the rail...
VigrithI'm also a long-time Quake fan, and Overwatch is definitely far from Quake, while the statement that it copied TF2 stands.
Gameplay itself is much more slower and objective-based, like TF2. Most of the heroes have weapons that are more closer rips to TF2 - Pharah with Soldier, Orisa with Heavy (especially seen in its testing phase), Widowmaker with Sniper, etc.
Games like Quake and Unreal Tournament has become so molded into gaming culture that their weapons (and aiming styles, such as Rocket Launcher projectile, Instant Tracking, Projectile Tracking, etc.) have become part of many popular games.
I'd actually say that the new Quake Champions is catering to the new audience with the rising popularity of these class/character based games, starting from the great popularity of games like League of Legends.
SuuuNot off topic I think but honestly Doom was the most fun I've had in years for an FPS especially when I think of the old days playing on lan for Doom and Quake. Where as OW was fun until they started changing it.
I played QC. Did not like it at all. I'll wait to see how it is on release day.
I wish they would fix Doom MP. Oh well.
BlueCrownedI'm strange.
Don't like Valve games.
I do like Valve engine modded games.
I also haven't let go of the grudge.
Regardless. I'm casual too. I don't play one game forever. But I have a few I always fall back on. :D
SuuuWhy are you here then? I don't think anything on this website is necessary or even cheap for that matter. You do you, and I respect the frugality, but don't complain about prices when literally everything on this site is more expensive than the shoes you're wearing.
