I think the knife looks great, very utilitarian and understated. As someone new to the quality EDC knife game I do have one question.
- Any suggestions on care/maintenance and sharpening?
From other comments from Jonas, it seems a guided angle sharpener (like the Lansky?) would be good. I know there's one currently being offered on MD, but would that do the trick or should I get the diamond kit?
Magic4644From what I understand, since it'd be in the 59 range Hrc, you'll have to sharpen with a diamond kit. But then again, I'm also a noob in these matters. ^^" Someone more experienced may confirm or correct me. :)
Magic4644A lansky will do just fine. Diamond is not needed. I think I have a diamond stone buried in a closet somewhere. Never bother with it.
Practice with your lansky on a cheapo knife first, so you won't be upset when you mess up. Guided sharpeners are easier but still take some practice and skill to use well.
mforrest1508Well I will play.
What steel "needs" a diamond sharpener? Most of mine are S35VN, with a little S30V and M390 sprinkled in. No need for diamond stones at all.
namhodI don’t need to convince you of anything you wanna pretend to know it all.... go for it. No reason to be a dick about something so dumb. All I can tell you is those diamonds are out there for a reason. carbides. Read up penis.
