Product Description
A collaboration with Toronto-based United Stock Dry Goods, these jeans are as classic as they come, made with 12.5-ounce rope-dyed indigo selvage denim from Okayama, Japan. For the uninitiated, they’re a great introduction to raw denim, breaking in quickly and picking up the characteristics of the wearer in a beautiful fade Read More

How would you describe the fit/material?

I would describe the fit as slim straight. The thighs are similar to Levi's 501 or 513. They are not as tight as straight leg jeans in brands like Citizens, Mavi, 34 Heritage, etc., but the typical "straight leg" jeans by other brands these days are as tight as yoga pants. From the knees down, the pants are true straight fit. I wear them with lace-up and cowboy boots with no problem, but the lack of taper may bother some when it comes to loafers or dress shoes. I wear a 32 waist in most jeans, and I bought the 32 in these. While tight at first, they did loosen up after a couple of wears to fit similar to other 32s that I own. The rise is between low- and mid-rise, somewhere between Levi's 501 and Bonobos. They look great with an untucked shirt, but I do wish the rise was slightly higher for a tucked in look. Besides the initial permanent stretching of the cotton in the first couple of wears, there is zero give in these pants. This will come as no surprise to people familiar with selvedge denim, but to those used to wearing Revtown, Mott & Bow, and the like, this is a big difference. You will certainly not be doing squats in these jeans. As for selvedge goes, these broke in fairly quickly, softening up and conforming to my body after a few weeks. The color has held after numerous wears and a couple of washes. I found that it is best to wash in cold water, inside out, and let air dry before your first wear just to loosen and soften them up.
How drastically do the jeans change color?

Not as fast as the ichiban selvedge denim jeans I got from massdrop as well. Because of this pair's denim weight, it can be washed less frequently too

Seen a lot of commentors remarking about poor returns (which I've experienced with some other items). But the item entry says 'free returns in the USA'. Under what conditions do we get our money back for this item specifically? Jean-fit is a funny thing...
How soon will I notice the raw denim change?
