i got it like 1 week ago, didn't care much for the design to be honest, the led is not bright enough, the keystrokes as i am trying it again, very very rough, keycaps are of very low quality, a niche is having skin texture(think naga ) overall finish, but that even more downgrades the look. you gotta realize 2 other brands share the same exact look and design. plus this is made in china.<br /><br />there is nothing useful on a keyboard's packaging, the box is anything but professional. the stupid dot matrix makes this look like a toy box, all the design and fonts are extremely generic and lack of character, this keyboard screams I AM CHEAP. except it has so little feature(all i can think of, breath mode, nothing special in year 2013) <br /><br /><br />it's got 3 replacement F row keycaps, all of which copying from other name brands, a beach girl, a toxic head, a flame icon, come on max, if you gonna make a brand standalone from durandal, at least try harder.<br /><br />the only thing good i have to say is the wrist rest, gotta love a wrist rest that's not fricking plastic. this one actually is a half solid half cushy nylon fine mesh covered square rubberize base that fit snuggly on bottom of the keyboard. obviously the necessary slope design added for ergonomics, but i do have other dedicated instead of add-on wrist rests that tops even this. not a minus to have it for thos without their own wrist rest, kudos

lyrillIt's always interesting how different people value different items, and the variation of how one rates things.
I personally love the keyboard for many of the reasons you said you don't. I'm sorry that you aren't impressed with the board! What sort of features were you looking for? I, or /r/mechanicalkeyboards on reddit can surely point you in the right direction.
I can elaborate on anything you may need, good sir.

lyrillJust out of curiosity, what mechanical keyboards do you feel it pales in comparison to? I was having trouble finding anything for the price point that had all the features that this keyboard has. Also, what switches did you get this this one?

burn1nat0rred, white led. <br />it pales comparing to 6gv2 red. <br /><br />also i was just gonna post, the initial roughness seem to have faded in after just a bit of break in, it'ts still there, and i hate it because it just gives you that roughness that will never be expected out of any filco board, but then I felt that this max nighthawk on red switch has surprisingly a great feel that sort of resembles my first mk board which was the filco 87 majestouch 2 brown. This one is probably the most tactile/heavy cherry red board out of all 7 of my cherry red collection<br />(6gv2, osmium aivia, tex beetle, shine 2 green led white caps, shine 3 white led, qf tk) I actually was supposed to get the keycool 87 red, but mk.com made a mistake and after back and forth they still ended up not able to get me the red they promised and refunded me 10 bucks for sending brown in mistake

lyrillThanks for your feedback. I hope that mine lacks the roughness that you are referring to. I was having trouble finding a brown mx, fully back lit, full size, with 2 usb at all (not to mention the mic and audio were a bonus as well). I had heard nothing but good things about this board, so I really hope mine doesn't disappoint.

burn1nat0ri don't care for the usb and audio because while they are good to have they aren't really as good as having the wires just go straight from your motherboard for best latency--if you are gonna be using these ports it's gotta be mainly for mouse and headset, maybe a flashdrive and sd card reader once in a while but you know, when i have enough fast direct usb slots on my pc i just don't care for them on the keyboard

lyrillYour review does a severe injustice to this keyboard. I feel strongly about this--there is absolutely now way that this keyboard could be called "cheap" in any sense of the term. The highest LED brightness is more than bright enough. In fact, any brighter would give it a campy, tacky look that would also be awfully glaring and disruptive. The keyboard itself has a matte, rubber grip-coating that is far superior in aesthetic and sense of durability (I haven't put my keyboard through any stress test) than a glossy finish which tend to be fingerprint magnets and highlight scratches (Das, for example). This is not a keyboard for those looking for the insanely gaudy, and, in my opinion, juvenile-esque gamer keyboards that look like something from GI Joe. The Nighthawk has enough programmable macro keys and other features suitable for gaming.
Unfortunately, so it says on the box, the keyboard is made in China--though one can't be too sure what this means nowadays (actually made in china? assembled in China?) Country or origin is a valid critique since I believe Max Keyboard products used to be made strictly in USA, Ohio.
Despite this, the Nighthawk is an excellent product that has yet to fail me. Everyday I find myself looking for excuses to use my keyboard just to relish in its superior typing experience.

Hi, I ordered an MT3 (2048 extended) keycap set on Nov 25. It was supposed to be shipped on Nov 29. The keycaps have still *not* shipped. I also ordered the media keycap set (2048 extended) on Nov 26. This was shipped on Nov 27 even though the estimated ship date was Nov 29. I'm just wondering, how long it's going to take for the base keycap set to ship? Given that it had a ship date of Nov 29, and the items are actually in stock.
