Received mine last week and am very happy about the look of the knife. The quince burl scales are beautiful and the blue anodizing on the pivot and the thumbstud is a great touch. Out of the box it was shaving sharp, perfectly centered with no play, and the grind flawless. The pivot is irritating though. The action was extremely stiff and required two hands to open. That's no big deal, I often tweak the tension on the pivot anyway, but the pivot isn't captured and spins. I had to side load the blade while open to wedge the pivot a little bit so it wouldn't spin while I unscrewed it. I got the opening action the way I like it, but the closing is still a bit stiff. Other more picayune cons: the clip is too big and shiny for the knife in my opinion and the width of the blade is a little too narrow and (very) slightly out of proportion to the handle, but both of those are apparent from the pics so I knew what I was getting. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase, I just love that burl.
jhoppsThe MC-1 is probably one of my all-time favorite knives. Just spectacular for a mass made blade. Rivals many hand made knives, at a fraction of the price.
