appleonamaDo you have personal experience with the software on this mouse crapping out? I can vouch for this mouse as working well for me and my needs thus far. I've never had a Zowie FK1 so I can't really compare the two. I haven't experienced the software crapping out yet.

appleonamayou don't need to run software or install any drivers. It is only used for customizing buttons, DPI, LED control etc.
Actually, it's not even a 'software', really. It's just a tool that writes data to the mouse internal memory, where all settings are saved. So you could very well just set all your preferences and close/uninstall the software for good...
This mouse rocks!
