Mine came in 3 days ago. They're not up to par with my HD 6XXs, and I never expected them to be. But after about 50 hours of burn-in they're better than they were in their initial delivery state. I'll be letting the burn-in go through the weekend. I've never had cans that required this, so I'm just using a mix of music from a wide range of genres on a loop. Any tips for this? Also, like several people, I feel the pads and cable should be replaced. I'll try the Brainwavz pads, but does anyone have a cable they like and can recommend?

PhaseIII got this cable for mine and like it. Claims to be 100% OF copper and seems heavy duty and relatively good quality. Nice and pliable also unlike the super stiff cable that come with the headphones.

PhaseIIYour experience mirrors that of mine, especially when placed against the HD6XXs. After 72hrs of burn-in (Youtube 8hrs of pink noise), my opinion of them hasn't changed. As I sit here typing this while waiting for my Brainwavz hybrid replacement pads to arrive, I have to say that the pads the GL2 came with flat out sucks. The OEM pads make the GL2 one of the most uncomfortable headphones I've tried on. Overall, $70 is about right for these; I cannot believe that they fetched ~$500 at one point. EDIT (12/3/18): The Brainwavz hybrid replacement pads arrived today and ... HOLY SHIT! My signal chain is as follows: ASIO > modi 3 > magni 3. That comfort, that soundstage, that clean bass! The GL2 now exhibits a much more satisfying bass than the HD6XX, as the former reaches deeper while thankfully keeping the midrange relatively clean. Also the treble does not sound as rolled off as the HD6XX nor is it too sibilant. When going back to the HD6XX, I can definitely hear that Sennheiser "veil" when compared to this brighter headphone. However, this headphone does not unseat the HD6XX when it comes to vocals or comfort during long listening sessions, and maybe better resolution of details although I have yet to compare the two in that regard. Overall, IMO, the sound produced by the GL2 is akin to the more "fun" HD58X without the treble graininess of the latter. Lastly, a final word for the stock pads. Damn, do they suck! They were extremely shallow and collapsed like cheap lawn furniture upon placing the cans on my head. The stock pads pressed the GL2 drivers right up against my ears making the cans unbearable to wear and listen. Please, everyone upgrade your pads if you want to unlock the potential of these cans. After replacing the stock pads, I'm extremely happy for getting these GL2s for $70.

FortinbrasNice find! Isn't easy to locate a cable connector that fits into the wood earcup. The average connector is too large to fit in the wood trough. I use a Radio Shack Auvio cable. But that option is no more.

FortinbrasSeconding Barondla's compliment. Nice cable find. They are definitely a step up from the lackluster cable that came with these cans.

PhaseIIHi, I have tried the Oehlbach xxl ijack35 kable for a few weeks now and it makes a really good step up in sound quality. It’s easy to hear, takes about 10 seconds into your favorite track... It’s a shame the original cabel is so mediocre.

mbvjmcWhat pads did you buy from Brainwavz? Someone else said that ATH-M50x pads fit, is that what you went with?

mbvjmcThank you! Accidentally buying the wrong pads is such a hassle.

cwelton17No problem. They fit fine but they take a little bit of effort to get them on the headphone cups.
