Which version of nibs is this? They've made 3 different nibs, with the first two having flow problems. Hoping this is the v.3 which seems to have remedied the previous issues.
JestercowI can attest to this. I have two Invincias, obtained about a year ago, both of which have substandard nibs (medium and 1.1 stub). i replaced the medium with a goulet nib and problem solved. A few weeks ago I bought an Impressa with a broad nib, and its butter-smooth with a nice even feed.
writerstephenI'm still a little new to the fountain pen game but I have a newbie question, nonetheless. When you say that you switched to a Goulet nib; does that mean a Monteverde nib sold by Goulet or a Goulet replacement nib for the Monteverde?
mikeison26Hi mikeison, and welcome to your new obsession!
Just kidding. But if you're anything like me, you'll be absorbing FP information like a sponge, not to mention visiting massdrop every day to see what's new and interesting.
What I meant by my statement above is this: I bought a replacement nib from Gouletpens.com (an excellent site that I highly recommend you visit) to fit my Invincia. Most Monteverdes and Conklins (both made by the same manufacturer) take #6 nibs (refers to the size of the nib), and they are easily removable and replaceable. Now, doing so does in many cases void the pen's warranty. But in this case, I didn't care. I bought a #6 medium black Goulet nib, swapped it out for the original nib in my Invincia, and it was like I had a whole new pen.
I hope this helps!
writerstephenStephen,
Thank you for the explanation. I certainly didn't know that a replacement nib would void the warranty; that seems a little extreme but I guess we don't make the rules.
