I love Chukkas and wear them all the time. I can buy a pair of original Clarks for less than $90. Adding a touch of kevlar and a small leather strap on the toes doesn't feel like it justifies the price point, even at the $144.99 MD special. Can anyone confirm that the price is justifiable?

RealBatmanI get that, but the "improvements" in protection don't seem like they justify the price. I can get better looking boots for riding that have more protection at the same price point.

ShipwreckYes sir, The difference is in the quality of the boot. We are using double stitched full grain leather (extremely durable and long lasting). Also the PU ankle protection is both comfortable for all day wearing as well as protective. As for the soles we did a ton of testing to get the most traction we possible could. There is a review about the traction on www.returnofthecaferacer.com I have been the guy that has slipped at a stop light, not cool. We really are trying to offer the absolute best product we can at the lowest feasible price to stay open so we can offer more lines in the future.
