When lying down in a small tent or under a tarp, one hand can reach a hung lamp, without having to lift the upper body off the ground/mat, so ought to be able to switch the light on or off. But a lamp that requires two hands to turn on or off, even though with very light resistance, will require raising the upper body, hence unnecessary effort, and disruption of one’s lying position.
