I wouldn't mind a rubber coating on the side parts of mine, but it has really nice balance if I hold it the right way so its not entirely necessary; plus it keeps down on the dirt buildup that comes with rubberized parts. Mine unfortunately has a very small imperfection on the top coating (I got the white one) where it has a micrometer sized paint bubble, but luckily it's in a place where my hand doesn't rest; the upside to this is if I get a scratch on it or something it won't be as painful. Overall I'm very pleased with the precision of the sensor and how light it is when it just floats across my mousepad effortlessly.
