What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

When I hook wireless receiver, I get weird behaviour. If I press "i" I get "ijkl" in the screen. The only to get things to work normally is by plugging in the USB and pressing Fn+F12 a few times to reset the relation. Nothing I can do to reset when wireless. It has brane new batteries that are no longer that 2 hours hold.
Help is appreciated.
Update: Rebooting the machine fixed the problem. I am guessing something went wrong with the USB HID drivers. Other than this glitch, the board has been working great. I actually prefer the red switches to the brown ones for lots of typing. I am not a gamer.
UPDATE2: I tried switching back and forth between cables and wireless and I found the wireless to be spotty at best. It wasn't reliable. The "ijkl" issue kept on cropping up all the time and the only REAL way to fix it was to remove the batteries from they keyboard and reboot the machine. I checked the kernel messages and the board registers the same as a my CM mechanical keyboard so I am starting to think it is the keyboards firmware. I will continue to investigate and see if I can reproduce the problem reliably. I am also getting a non LED mode to replace the LED one I got, due to shipping mistake, so I will get a chance to test this one as well.
