Not my style but I'll be damned if I don't have to point out the frankly obscene amount of watch you get for your money from Orient these days. I wish China would stop being such a bastard of a country on the world scale, because their capacity for making some truly wonderful, unique things is gravely underrated.

HoneybadgersOrient is owned by Epson, which is part of the same conglomerate that owns Seiko. Now, they do have manufacturing facilities in Maylasia and other southeastern Asian countries, which is why you’ll see collectors looking for domestic market Made in Japan watches. It is entirely possible that parts of the case or strap are made outside Japan, but to the best of my knowledge nothing is made or assembled in China, Taiwan or Hong Kong. Before being acquired by Epson, Orient was totally in house. Looking at the back of the case, it does not say ‘made in japan’ and is marked as ‘movement japan’ so I suspect case/original strap is made elsewhere with final assembly in one of Epson (read Seiko) factories.
