UzuzuI'm from a farming community, I don't fear science.. survival scenario: your organic corn gets worms; no internet to solve your problem, you can't stop them, you lose 80% of your crop. Or you have bt gmo corn, you get no worms, you don't die.
UzuzuTell me more about how organic bananas that are seedless don't change your body's genetics, you are scientificly illiterate, go follow food babe on facebook
BruceymYou're from the farming community? Christ, now I know why these bastards get away with what they're doing. Good luck, son. Your grand children need it.
AgisonYou're from the city? Now I know how the non gmo project scares you with your lack of basic chemistry knowledge. Watch out for that dihydrogen monoxide, it's in your organic juice, and it's the main ingredient in round up..
BruceymI agree with your general sentiment.. There's a lot of anti science feeling going around these days, and people don't realize that GMO associated programs and products go through rigorous testing from multiple independent organizations to make sure they are not harmful to us or the environment. No GMO has ever been proven to cause harm to "your body's genetics" or "kill you from the inside". People need to stop fearing change and do proper research.
azraelThanks for agreeing with me, however a lot of people think that doing their research involves watching youtube and using Google until they find a source that agrees with their personal opinion, there simply needs to be laws passed to stop websites like naturalnews and food babe from spreading false information
BruceymIt's a fine line between removing bad info and censorship of free speech, though. We can only continue to educate and prove with testing, and maybe people will get it.
Ultimately, some people will never be convinced because they search out websites and info that is congruent with their confirmation bias.
AgisonYour comment doesn't even make sense.
And again, any genetically modified organism is subject to rigorous testing by multiple independent organizations. We don't just release GMOs willy nilly. We evaluate any cross species contamination, its effect on the environment, and any sort of toxins.
azraelMonsanto has politically shut down anyone who voices concerns over GMO and research related. But that's okay, it won't last forever, dusk is setting on this world.
UzuzuAzrael is the name of an angel. Get your facts right. You're probably thinking of Azazel.
Monsanto is definitely evil, I don't think anyone here will dispute that. But it's wrong to say all GMOs are bad when there is a lot of potential to grow hardier crops that can have a higher yield. But why work towards feeding a hungry world, right?
azraelThe world is hungry to other reasons, lol.
And I was not wrong about Azrael. In my belief through studies of the scripture I believe he is a demon. I believe it is the "correct" interpretation, rightly so.
UzuzuHe's the angel of death in Judeo-Christian lore. Always has been. And it's taken from a Batman character, not scripture.
Still waiting on that link.
UzuzuAzrael in Hebrew translates to "Help from God". So since I've never seen your claim in any lore I've read, I call BS. Please show sources, just as I am requesting for sources on your claims about GMOs.
And again, what the hell does my username matter? I took it from a comic book character from the Batman series?
BruceymI feel sorry for you for having to entertain these illiterate idiots. GMO has been proven to not cause any kind of harm to humans. Anybody who believes they do are incompetent and probably got their info from a "revelation" video on youtube. This whole comment section reeks of incompetence. I hope you people who are afraid of GMOs don't manage to convince anybody because you're directly harming the environment, including other humans, by doing so. An incredible amount of people could benefit from GMOs if you idiots weren't so dense.
UzuzuQuestion is who I'd be shilling for considering there are no big scary GMO corporation trying to push their wares on people. It's literally farmers who wants their produce to for example have a better chance of surviving the current climate and get higher yields.
I'm no shill, stupidity just triggers me.
arebokertThank you for being a voice of reason. I find it almost amusing that people will argue GMOs are horrible for humans despite scientific evidence to the contrary, whilst turning a blind eye to the pesticide usedwith organic crops. They their true concern was about the health of their food, they'd focus on that.
Doodlesfalse. gmos are harmful, and pesticides are harmful. It's ridiculous and evil that in the US pesticides have to be used even on organic crops, I'm aware of it and I let everyone I see in the store know about it if I see them shopping organic. Funny u say gmo is safe, when it's illegal in half the world and only legal in the US because of corrupt monsanto. Shame on you.
UzuzuWhat are you on about? GMOs are not illegal anywhere... Yes pesticides can be harmful, that has zero to do with GMO.
How nice of you to push your agenda on people in the store. Seems like a completely healthy thing to do.
azraelThe moment he started talking about you being named after a demon is probably when you should have stopped the interaction. No use arguing with the fundamentalists, they "think" they have an answer for anything (They don't).
I'm all for GMOs, vaccines, and science. As a doctor, I get called a shill for big Pharma constantly. I just wish big Pharma would start sending me the checks I am accused of getting...
UzuzuThought you were "done talking here."
And your profile states you are only interested in audiophile drops.
Our research has determined that both of those were lies.
DrThrobOh great, the type of person who scours a person's profile for leverage in an internet argument. Usually marked by those with strong mental instability and aggressive psychopathic tendency. It is clear you do not care about the general population, well people are not animals and you are no better than any other single person living alive, as am I. I am done talking here.
UzuzuWe both know you aren't done talking here. You're psychologically incapable of it. And if literally clicking a single link is classified as "scouring" then I guess I'm Mr. Clean.
Mental instability and authoritarian principles, the mark of a Natural News reader and a fundamentalist. How's your pseudo-president doing?
arebokertI am reluctant to even post into this quagmire, because I know doing so will just make me a target, but in the interest of trying to inject some level of fact checking into this argument, please read the article and citations on Wikipedia on GMO foods in Europe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetically_modified_food_in_Europe
I can honestly say that I do not know what side of this argument I fall on, I am familiar with the talking points on both sides, but the way these personal opinions are being served up, by both sides, with out any links to corroborating facts, journal articles, scientific studies (PRO or CON) makes this entire thread, little more than noise.
I applaud anyone who feels they have found some nugget of truth in life and wants to share it with others, but doing so with barbed comment, and personal slights doesn't help anyone understand or learn from the points you are trying to make.
Share the knowledge you have gained in life but do it in a way that educates, not alienates others. Share the articles and science that have help you form your opinion, so that others may learn. Otherwise an opportunity to learn, will be lost in all the angry rhetoric.
In case I haven't been clear enough, I am not aiming this at either side, but rather, both.
